20th Century Women has taken its sweet ass time getting to Australian cinemas but it proved worth the wait and justified every nomination or award win that came Annette Bening’s way during Awards season. I’ve been very lucky to get published online for a few publications these past 3 months. I’ve been grateful for the opportunity and appreciate the support from my fellow bloggers.

Produced by Eyeball Media Enterprises Scenestr. is an online national magazine with local offices around Australia. With over twenty years of publishing history they’ve excelled at moving into the digital realm but they remain at heart from the streets. They also publish Scene magazine in print every month focussed mostly on music gigs, festivals, stand-up comics, fashion and interviews with local and international bands. If you’re into music they’re a great read but they do cover all of the arts.

The link doesn’t work for me, Lloyd. I will try again another time.
    Regards, Pete.

An excellent achievement. Well done again!

I liked this quirky movie and yet, felt discomfort at times. I was wishing for a few spots of normalcy. I suppose this is better than boring same old lives of people who are strangers. Lloyd, I am glad you included this award nominated film! Smiles, Robin

    • Lloyd Marken says:

Thank you Robin, sure they’re a bit out there but I enjoyed Dorothea’s whip smart dialogue.

    • Lloyd Marken says:

Thank you for checking out the review.

I would read you more except certain seasons cause my car parts warehouse to become longer and busier days! (50 hrs weekly leaves me drained.) I enjoy yours, Jay’s, BeetleyPete and Cindy’s movie reviews. I forget there is another I enjoy.

      • Lloyd Marken says:

I know the feeling Robin, just check out what you want when you can. As a fellow blogger once advised me “Life takes precedent.” 🙂

      • reocochran says:

Rest in summer takes precedence over blogging! Ha ha!
Anyway, congratulations on being chosen for more than one review to be published, Lloyd.
I have one more year to reach my ten years at the warehouse (which both the CEO and the HR head gave me only a week , at best, to last there!) You may or may not know I had to leave my teaching job since the younger Bush administration had pushed for Master’s degree requirements instead of how I had completed my professional license. I was taking Master’s courses, waiting tables and teaching from 2005-2008. I tried to hang on to my house and yet, did end up divorced and am fine now.
I plan on a less strenuous job at 62.
Life hands us lemons, but as I joke but don’t mean to sound crass, no one died.

      • Lloyd Marken says:

You’re not all crass, we always have to keep punching even when life knocks us down. I admire your fortitude and wish you the best.
